What is a padel Americano?
A padel Americano is a social individual tournament played as doubles. Partners change every round, but each player keeps the points their team scores. At the end, the player with the most total points wins, so you compete with everyone rather than as one fixed pair.
The Americano padel format is popular because one court session gives everyone several short matches and a mix of partners. It works especially well for club socials, workplace padel and groups whose players do not already have fixed partners.
Padel Americano rules and scoring
- Enter each person as an individual. The generator assigns two-player teams for every round.
- Choose a fixed total such as 16, 21, 24 or 32 points. Play until the two teams' scores add up to that number.
- Each player receives their team's score. A 13–8 result in a 21-point round gives 13 points to both winners and 8 to both opponents.
- After every round, change partners and opponents according to the schedule. Players with a bye rejoin in the next rotation.
- Rank players by total points, then point difference and wins. The top individual after the final round is the winner.
Agree the serving rule and any time limit before round one. For timed events, finish the point in progress when time is called and record the score reached; for fixed-point events, every match should use the same total.

In this generator, a Mexicano schedule starts with balanced rotations. Once a round is scored, future rounds update around the new table while still limiting repeated partners and sharing byes fairly.
How many rounds for an Americano?
With enough courts for everyone, use one fewer round than players when the player count is divisible by four. For other group sizes, use the same number of rounds as players so the byes divide evenly. If you have fewer courts, the round count stays the same and playing time is shared as evenly as the available court slots allow.

How does a padel Americano work?

How many points should each Americano round use?
Sixteen, 21, 24 and 32 points are all common. Shorter rounds keep a social event moving; 24 or 32 points gives each pairing more time to settle. Each match should finish on the chosen total, such as 13–8 in a 21-point round.
Can I run an Americano with an odd number of players?
Yes. The generator rotates byes so sitting-out time is shared as evenly as possible. You need at least four players, and every court in use needs four players per round.
What is the difference between Americano and Mexicano?
Americano prioritises rotating partners and opponents across a balanced schedule. Mexicano uses the live ranking to group players of similar performance, so later rounds become progressively more competitive.
Do players need to sign up to see the schedule?
No. The organiser can create a read-only link containing the schedule and scores, then share it in WhatsApp. An account is only needed if the organiser wants a saved tournament history.
